Mushrooms with Dinner

Home today after a great weekend. Dinner is a combination of local summer squash, zucchini from Robins' garden, and re-hydrated mushrooms with chicken sausage in an Alfredo sauce and tortellini - Oh my! Dried mushrooms can be re-hydrated with warm tap water. Soak for about 20 minutes and then cook thoroughly.
Love to have fresh vegetables. I sorted all my dried mushrooms - ready for Winter.
Time to enjoy this dinner with glass(es) of Yellow Tail Merlot ...perfect evening.
Take care!!

Mushroom Walk

We have had such great weather! July was almost all rain and August has been dry with cool nights. Since we had so much rain this Summer the mushrooms have been plentiful.
My friend Robin has been a nature lover all her life and learned everything from her Dad. He taught her survival in the woods and all the plentiful things that the forest can offer. One thing is the abundance of mushrooms that can grow in a small area.
She had a Mushroom Walk today that had 14 people and a 3 month old puppy named Chaga. It was a great day of learning and being in the woods.
We found a lot of different mushrooms and even had to look some up. It's good to have a book for reference, no matter how much you know.
We spent about 2 hours in the woods and then headed back. I got to finally use my walking stick and enjoyed every minute in the wilderness.
Robin's next adventure will be heading to Yellowstone with her husband. Someday I hope to go. :)

Take care!
